As per the Press Release circular dated 21st Nov 2025, the Government of India has announced that the four Labour Codes - the Code on Wages, 2019, the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the Code on Social Security, 2020 and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 are being made effective from 21st November 2025. This decision will rationalize the exiting 29 Labour Laws. This move is taken under the initiative of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The implementation of the four Labour Codes addresses this long-pending need to move beyond colonial-era structures and align with modern global trends.
