The deadline for Maharashtra Professional Tax returns has been extended. The department has issued a notification dated 17th Dec 2025, thereby, extends the last date of filing the monthly return until 31st Dec 2025 for October 2025 and November 2025 under the Maharashtra PT Act, 1975 (as well as MVAT/CST). This extension applies only to filing of returns — tax payments must still have been made by the original due dates (for October 2025 MVAT/CST returns and November 2025 PT returns). The notification also states that any return for the month of Oct and Nov 2025 shall attract late fee as prescribed under this act.
